16/05/18 – 18/05/18 – Pineda de Mar
We decided to stay at another campsite at Pineda de Mar called Enmar (17 euros using ACSI discount card) including a free sangria each. It was a bit of a change compared to the last campsite in regards to many mohos tightly parked together, but you still had enough outdoor space to eat and sunbathe. The facilities were good and the people pretty friendly. We noticed that we were the youngest residents by at least 20 years. Some of the residents looked like they were there long term and we got quite a few territorial stares when walking around. Our neighbours were lovely and would often pop round to chat, and say hello to Marley.

We took a walk to the only dog friendly beach we had been told about, albeit the sign still said “no dogs”. Although this is the law in Spain, there seems to be some tolerance to dogs on beaches depending on the time of year, how busy the beach is and whether or not it has a blue flag status. It didn’t surprise us then that the beach we could go on was the least well maintained out of the long stretch of sandy coast. This was a good opportunity for Marley to try out his beach tent with his cool mat. It wasn’t super hot but he was panting and still adjusting to the heat, so we stayed no more than an hour. We made sure to give him plenty of water, and tempt him into the sea, but he’s just not a sea loving dog. Both the beach shelter and coolmat have been invaluable for Marley. If you would like one ,see the bottom of the page for the link to them on Amazon.
We stayed a couple of nights, and one night we went to get our free sangria (turned out to be a shot sized glass with tinned fruit) – yum, well Dan loved it and I love anything free. It was a crazy night….there was just one other couple in the bar who were drunk and desperate to talk to other English people, obvious by his comments “they’re all Dutch here”. Being super sociable, we avoided them at all costs.
We tried out the Weds market, which I would not recommend unless you like frilly granny knickers and cheap handbags. Pineda de Mar was a nice place to stop, but probably not somewhere that memorable.
